SLED 10.1
I've been working with SLED 10.1 for a few weeks now. I agree with the various reviews in that SLED looks like a ready-for-primetime desktop OS.
But for me, SLED needs to be ready for the classroom - and it is. I downloaded the Novell Linux Client 1.2 and installed it. Had a difficult time actually logging in to NetWare. I couldn't see the tree and SLP seemed to be configured properly but it wasn't seeing my DA. So in thinking back to login issues with XP I remember that the firewall gave me grief. Sure enough, by disabling the firewall in SLED I could see my tree and the login went flawlessly.
So when configuring the Novell Client, specify your tree and context but leave the SLP stuff blank.
